WATERJET over EDM:

  • Up to ten times faster depending on part thickness
  • No Heat Affected Zone (HAZ), so no need for secondary operations to remove the HAZ or additional heat-treating to compensate for the process
  • Works with non-conductive materials (such as glass, stone, plastic) as well as conductive materials
  • Can pierce material directly without the need for a pre-drilled starter hole
  • Can produce large parts at reasonable costs
  • Simple and rapid programming and set up with minimal fixturing

WATERJET over Laser:

  • Can produce parts up to 12" (30 cm) thick in virtually any material while holding tolerances on the order of ±0.003" to ±0.005" (±0.08 to ±0.1 mm) for parts 2" (5 cm) thick or less
  • Can machine reflective, conductive and thicker materials such as stainless steel and aluminum, copper and brass
  • Cuts without melting, providing a smooth uniform surface with very little burr or dross
  • No Heat Affected Zone (HAZ), eliminating the need for a secondary operation to remove HAZ. This also makes conventional secondary operations, such as reaming or tapping, easier to perform. No noxious gas or vapors produced during cutting
  • Simple and rapid programming and set up for short-run parts

WATERJET over Milling:

  • Very rapid programming
  • Very low cutting loads mean fixturing is easier, and intricate and delicate parts can be machined
  • One cutting tool performs all machining functions in all materials
  • Large cutting envelope compared to a standard machining center
  • Minimal burr compared to conventional machining
  • Environmentally friendly; no oil-soaked chips and minimal scrap

WATERJET over Punch Press:

  • Very rapid programming and set up for short run parts
  • No distortion of closely spaced parts
  • Minimal burr
  • Ability to work in a wide range of thickness, from sheet metal to plate
  • Ability to work in a very wide range of materials
  • No special tooling required for unusual shapes or profiles

WATERJET over High Definition Plasma:

  • No melting or heat-affected zone, so no heat distortion or crusted area to impair secondary machining processes such as tapping holes.
  • Wider range of material capabilities.
  • Wider range of thickness capabilities.
  • Better precision in intricate parts.

We are happy to use your material or provide the material for you. At SEIC we never markup our material, you pay what we pay.

No. We use industry leading “Tilt-A-Jet” cutting technology that eliminates any edge taper. The Tilt-A-Jet can position the nozzle at an angle calculated by the software to exactly offset the taper from the abrasivejet. Taper doesn't disappear—it just gets moved to the scrap part of the material, leaving your part with exactly square edges.

Waterjet technology has advanced heavily in just the last few years. The ability to cut with very high degree of accuracy, such as part repeatability of +/- .002 and zero taper, are just a few of the advancements. While many waterjet companies may be able to cut your part, only those with the latest modern advancements can perform “precision” waterjetting.

Yes. With our Tilt-A-Jet cutting head technology, we are able to stack material while insuring part accuracy and zero taper.

We can work with a variety of file types from a hand drawing to SolidWorks. However, the easiest and fastest is a flat DXF or DWF file.

There are several factors in finish edge quality. However, the two main factors are speed and abrasive type. We cut from the roughest (material separation) to the finest smooth etched edge (architectural finish) depending on your needs. To save on costs, you can even define multiple edge qualities throughout your part.

SEIC provides, fast economical machining of virtually all metallic and non-metallic materials. Materials such as aluminum, ceramics, copper, composites, exotic alloys, glass, steel, hardened tool steel, stainless steel, titanium, stone, wood, rubber and many others.

Yes. Our waterjet technology, we can etch (with abrasive) or scribe (water only) to add part numbers or other marking such as bend location marks. This feature is also used heavily to apply reference “center punch” marks in select locations for ease and expedited post machining or assembly.

Just email us your drawing or specifications, let us know if you would like us to provide the material and what edge quality you would like and we will be happy to give you a free RapidQuote within 24 hours. Or, if you would prefer, just give us a call and we will review your needs over the phone.

Currently SEIC specializes on serving North America.

No! One of the many great features of waterjet cutting is the complete elimination of heat affected zones from the cutting process. Waterjet cutting is truly unique with this feature over almost any other type of cutting.

Not only can we cut almost any composite or laminate using our waterjet technology, we can almost always do it without pre-drilling pilot/pierce holes, saving you time and money. Even with the latest and most advanced technology, cutting these types of materials without delaminating can be very challenging. However, SEIC has perfected key methodologies that allow us to cut these materials with great ease and do so heavily by the mile.

No. We can provide a smooth, taper free part cut to spec with no further machining necessary.

We can handle material up to 80" x 160" x 6" and 160" x 18" x 12".

Yes. Through select partner companies, we can provide a variety of secondary services including machining, tap and die, bead blasting, sanding, polishing, bending, welding and much more. Just tell us what you want and we will be happy to give you a quote.

Yes. SEIC runs in a multi-shift capacity, not only for production volume but also to insure rapid turn-around from the smallest one off part to the 30,000 part order.
